Femi Fani Kayode Sues Rotimi Amaechi For Defamation, Demands N5billion (See court papers)

The former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode is suing the minister of transportation, Rotimi Amaechi over statement he made during an interview with Channels TV.

Amaechi alleged that a former governor of Rivers, Dr. Peter Odili transferred N2 Billion Naira to the ministry of avaition for the rehabilitation of Port Harcourt Airport runway during Mr. Kayode's tenure.

But Fani Kayode equally denied the claim, stating that the Rivers state government never sent a dime to the ministry.

Much more in his defence, Fani Kayode said; "I am going to sue him, what he has said made no sense it is nonsensical, it is reflecting his diseased mind like I said earlier and am waiting for him, he will hear from my lawyers as early as Tuesday next week"

A letter from the ex-aviation minister's lawyers dated Monday, May 1st shows Mr. Fani Kayode is demanding N5billion naira for defamation of his character from Rotimi Amaechi.
