RIVERS STATE TO HOST THE 2018 INTERNATIONAL SENIOR, JUNIOR & CADET WRESTLING COMPETITION

Port Harcourt the Rivers state capital has won the right to host the Senior, Junior and Cadet International Competition of the International Wrestling Federation.
The bid was won after a meeting of the International Wrestling Federation on the 19th of August in Paris France.

The event with 90 gold medals to be won would have 14 participating countries and over 1000 athletes in attendance. It would be held in February 2018.

A formal notification of the hosting right was passed to the Rivers state Governor, Barr Nyesom Wike during a courtesy visit by the President of the Nigerian Wrestling Federation Mr David Igali.
