RIVERS STATE GOVERNMENT POISED TO REPOSITION RIVERS UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB.
The Rivers State Commissioner For Sports Hon Boma Iyaye has made an assertion that the Rivers State Government has reiterated the need to justify the huge amount of tax payers money spent on the State owned football team Rivers United Football Club (RUFC) during the past Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Season.
The State Commissioner aired his displeasure at the stakeholders meeting held at the Delta Hotels Port Harcourt on the 10th Oct 2017, Hon Iyaye queried the poor performance of the team and asked the management and technical crew to offer apology to the People of Rivers State.
Furthermore, Hon Iyaye asked them to buckle up and reposition the team among the best in Africa that the Rivers team should be among the Africa Football Competitors he said "that is where we belongs"
Speaking, the Chairman of the occasion Adokiye Amiesimaka also urged other Stakeholders to join hands with the Honourable Commissioner, the management and technical crew of the team to ensure overall success in the coming season.
Also Speaking, Barr Christopher Green the Chairman technical committee of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) asked that all the decision reached be religiously implemented to ensure overall Success.
