It is hard to come to terms with the truth of your passing away, dear mother. The thought of life without you is so unimagineable that the pain seems eternal.

You were generous with your time and resources to your children and all who came to you for both emotional and material support. Your love and care transcended every imagination, your were my inspiration, my greatest supporter, my ageless foot soldier, my Counsellor and mobilizer. Can i count how many times you went to the various markets in Bonny to canvass for votes for me inspite of how harsh the weather conditions might be?

You were there to lead the way to the polling unit many times my election was repeated. You commited your upkeep allowance to my cause, shared in my frustrations, pains and success. You believed in me, encouraged me when i seemed to be in despair and wished you'd take on the battle yourself.

Sad that you, my Amazon, my one true mother, my friend, have gone on the journey of every mortal at this time. For me, you should have lived much longer to enjoy the rewards of your care and love, of your kindness and warmth, of your sacrifice for the good and happiness of your children and grand children, but you had to answer the call of your Maker when He called you.

My dear wife Chinonye, Imiebam, Tuotamuno, Tamunokuro and I will forever keep your fond memories.

Thank you for being there for us when we needed a shoulder to rest our heads.
