DR REASON ONYA PERFORMING BEYOND EXPECTATIONS - By Marvin Chinda

When Dr Reason Onya was appointed the commissioner for Urban and Physical Planning by Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON, GSSRS, I was actually skeptical of him performing in that office considering his status. His status of a man that is already doing very well, a ‘BIG’ or ‘RICH’ man like some persons will put it, with a lovely wife; Dr. Obianma Onya who is also doing great in her medical profession. To me I concluded it was just an appointment also considering the complexity of that ministry.

But just weeks after he was sworn in, Dr Reason surprised me and others who may have thought the same way I did. I started seeing him on the road, markets, streets, discharging his duties with an obvious love for the state and zeal written all over him in restoring the state. He does not sit in his office and give directives, but always there in the field directing and supervising with seriously to join hands with Mr Quality Project, the governor of the state, Barrister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike in making Rivers State NEW again.

When he was attacked by some Hausa boys at the slaughter market while on duty, one would have thought he will slow down. But that gave him the reason to work more for his state and deliver on the mandate of the ministry he was appointed to oversee.

Doctor Reason Onya is obviously one of the best performing commissioners we have in Rivers State.

Thank you sir for coming to serve your people and work for the state with this love and passion, and  especially to His Excellency, Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike for appointing capable hands to position of authority like Dr Reason Onya.
