New Sanitation Bye-law Underway for Obio/Akpor

The Chairman Obio/Akpor local government council, Prince Solomon Abel Eke says a sanitation Bye-law would soon be enacted to ensure the cleanliness of the council area.

He disclosed this a prayer session for Obio Akpor local government area to seek the face of God for the peace, security, and progress of the council area.

Hon. Solomon Eke said that as part of the Bye-law offenders of the law would be prosecuted noting that refuse receptacles are being provided at all RIWAMA approved sites.

The council boss expressed the need for regularly seeking the face of God in prayer for His intervention and that the prayer session would be held on monthly basis to achieve set goals.

Prince Solomon Eke explained that the road decongestion exercise of the council is yielding positive results as it has reduced kidnapping, armed robbery and snatching of personal effects from unsuspecting public.

He also expressed the commitment of his administration to reduce the poverty level among the people of the council area with a number of initiatives.

Bishop of Evo diocese Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion, Rt Reverend Innocent Ordu told the gathering that anyone who fails to pray is doomed saying that prayer is a shield.

Represented by Rev Canon Bright Okocha said that prayer and exultation are key for all men and charged the people of Obio Akpor to pray for those in authority.

The event featured prayers for the Chairman and his Vice, the Governor and government of Rivers State and the nation as well as a peaceful 2019 general elections.
